Custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card with massive quad-slot design spotted in Lenovo Legion gaming PC

An insanely huge NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 custom graphics card has been spotted in the Lenovo Legion gaming PC by the NGA forums.

Huge 4-slot NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 custom graphics card spotted in Lenovo’s Legion gaming PC

There are no details regarding the specific brand or model of this custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, but it could be a Gigabyte design based on its appearance. The card features a quad slot that Gigabyte created for RTX 3090 Ti cards and a single PCIe Gen 5.0 socket can also be spotted. However, the card could very well be a custom design from Lenovo itself, as the OEM has its fair share of custom (non-reference) graphics cards they’ve designed in the past.

The card can be seen in the Lenovo Legion gaming PC and the card has a three-fan cooler that pushes air through the heatsink. The heatsink and backplate extend beyond its PCB which uses a compact design so that the third fan mainly pushes air out of the cutout on the backplate. This design is similar to Gigabyte’s GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC which was leaked yesterday.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 “expected” specs

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will use 128 SM out of the 144 SM for a total of 16,384 CUDA cores. The GPU will come with 96MB of L2 cache and a total of 384 ROPs, which is just insane, but given that the RTX 4090 is a scaled-down design, it may feature slightly lower L2 and ROP numbers. Clock speeds are not yet confirmed, but given that the TSMC 4N process is used, we expect clocks between 2.0 and 3.0 GHz.

As far as memory specs go, the GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to rock 24GB GDDR6X capacities which will be clocked at 21Gbps speeds on a 384-bit bus interface. This will provide up to 1 TB/s of bandwidth. This is the same bandwidth as the existing RTX 3090 Ti graphics card and when it comes to power consumption, the TBP is said to be rated at 450W, which means the TGP could be lower than that. The board will be powered by a single 16-pin connector that delivers up to 600W of power. We’re likely to get 500W+ custom designs like we saw with the RTX 3090 Ti.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, including the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 graphics cards, will be among the first graphics cards besides the RTX 4090 to be released to gamers. The RTX 4090 is so far expected to launch on October 22, but an unveiling is expected during NVIDIA’s GTC keynote later this month. All vendors are readying their GeForce RTX 4090 designs and we have also seen several Gigabyte models leaked and already listed, here.

Which NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series graphics card are you looking forward to the most?
